BEVERLY HILLS, CA, June 27, (THEWILL) – Delta State Governor, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan has said it is important for everyone to know his/her neighbour as a way of tackling security issues.

Speaking at a meeting with traditional rulers and local government council chairmen, Dr Uduaghan said it is important for Deltans to know their neighbours.

According to him, knowing one's neighbour entails knowing the person's source of income and place of work among others.

He observed that the security situation in the country required extra vigilance by the people, urging them to also promptly report any suspicious persons to security operatives.

“We must be vigilant, we must know your neighbour's programme, we must ensure that our state is safe and peaceful,” the Governor said.

He noted that the removal of people who enter the state illegally was being handled by immigration services.

Dr Uduaghan said, “Identifying and deporting people who do not have genuine businesses in the state, especially foreigners who are in the state illegally is a continuous exercise being done by immigration.”

The Governor also used the occasion to charge council chairmen to take issues of environmental sanitation seriously.
