A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Mr Lateef Ajijola has described the landslide victory recorded by the party in the last Saturday governorship election as a show of anger by Ekiti people, saying; "Governor Kayode Fayemi and his party took Ekiti people for granted and paid dearly for it."

Ajijola, who congratulated the Governor-Elect, Dr Ayodele Fayose for his victory in the election, expressed happiness that "the hypocrisy and lies of the APC was exposed with a scandalous failure in the election."

He said; "I congratulate our Governor-Elect, Dr Ayodele Fayose, supporters of our great party, PDP and the entire people of Ekiti for this victory.

"The election was a total rejection of a government and political party that took the people for a ride. It was a show of anger against Fayemi and his party because they treated Ekiti with contempt.

"I therefore wish to salute the people of Ekiti State for once again, demonstrating to the entire world their capacity to reject whoever takes them granted."

Speaking further, Ajijola said; "I am particularly happy that the election has removed the label of election rigger witnessed PDP trouncing the APC in a free, fair and transparent election.

"By losing in all the 16 Local Councils in Ekiti State, the whole world can now see that Ekiti belongs to the PDP, and I am happy that we are back to our rightful place."

He thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for his support and commitment to the emancipation of Ekiti people from the APC.
