BDIC London Office Set For Launch, As Gov Dickson Expands Economic Frontiers Of Bayelsa

As part of his administration's continued efforts towards propagating the enormous investment potentials of the State as well as broaden the base of the state's economy, Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State is to formally open the London headquarters of the Bayelsa Development and Investment Corporation (BDIC)

The Governor will be leading a high powered delegation from the State to the event, which takes place at the proposed BDIC office; 13, Charles II street, London. SWIY SQU, United Kingdom will hold on Monday, 30 th of June, 2014.

Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, Nigeria's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom is also expected to be at the helm of a 20-man delegation to the ceremony.

Also, to be in attendance are some members of the British parliament and representatives of the Westminster Africa Business Group.

The BDIC, which was established by law in August, 2012 is intended to attract the needed investors from strong economies of the world to Bayelsa State to invest in critical areas like tourism, agriculture, the maritime sector, among others.

The opening of the London office is also a fulfillment of Governor Dickson's pronouncement during the launch of the African regional headquarters in Johannesburg last year, that an office of the corporation will be opened in London, United Kingdom and New York in the United States.
