As the All Progressives Congress, APC, is yet to recover from its humiliating defeat at the last weekend's governorship election in Ekiti State, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Rivers State has reassured of repeating same feat against Governor Rotimi Amaechi's APC next year.

The chairman, Rivers State chapter of the Party, Prince Felix Obuah gave the assurance through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam while speaking on the failed promises of Governor Amaechi to Rivers people.

The PDP regrets that rather than improve the welfare of the people through provision of necessary social amenities and infrastructure, Amaechi has chosen to impoverish the people the more by encouraging corruption and diverting State resources to personal, group and APC interests.

These and many other sundry misdeeds against his father land have already pinched Gov Amaechi against the people and should be sure the people can no longer be deceived the second time having known him better now.

The women are disenchanted; the elders disappointed and the youths disenfranchised and discouraged, the PDP notes.

On the lull of social and business activities in the State, the PDP further regrets that all the investors attracted to the State by the robust State economy under Sir Dr Peter Odili administration have all left the State due to Amaechi's ambiguous and undefined policies that serve more as a threat to their businesses as well as the hostile attitude of Amaechi's men to these investors.

The PDP notes that all hope is not lost however, as the Party will do all it can to put the State back on strong and sound economic footing upon wresting power from those it called hostage takers in 2015, stressing that the failure of Gov Amaechi to run an open and transparent administration as promised on assumption of office is as a result of massive fraud and corrupt practices that characterize his administration.

More worrisome to the PDP however, is Amaechi's deliberate effort not to empower the Rivers youths but rather prefers to incite them to take up arms in his 'Revolution' against the Jonathan administration and the federal government, calling him a political terrorist.

Not minding his precarious stance on using violence to achieve his set agenda, the PDP believes Amaechi and his APC will be crushed in the State next year, enjoining the Rivers people to continue to keep faith with the Party and keep shunning the visionless APC.
