In New Orleans And Other Big Cities Of The World, Satanic And Demonic Acts Writ Larger Than In Rural Areas

What drives you? What is your passion? Why are you here on earth? What is your mission in life? Many people in life hardly bother about these germane questions as long as they have the three basic essentials of life: food, clothing and shelter which have become the pre-occupations of most human beings on earth. But for us Christian pilgrims and strangers on earth, our Lord Jesus Christ admonished us that these three essentials aren't the raison d'etre of life.

According to the King in Mathew 6: 25: "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes?' Yes, man doesn't live by bread alone, but it's equally true that man cannot do without bread. But what our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was teaching us is that, we should not preoccupy all life's purpose on these ephemerals with such monomaniacal commitment that we lose touch with our eternal destination. Sociologists tell us that as industrialization kicked in among humans and a monetized economy becomes the norm, people in villages and rural areas began to move to cities and megalopolis were born which ushered human s into a waged economy.

The great 19th Century French author, philosopher and sociologist, Emile Durkheim enriched the Academy with his numerous works on how this urge to offer productive labor in exchange for money in a wage economy compelled scores to drift from villages to big cities thanks to industrialization. But this rural-urban migration which has turned our modern lifestyle into mitoses has also brought new challenges in family relationships, gender roles and the spiritual lives of humans. What I found out during my vacation in New Orleans and Mississippi in the South are found in major megacities around the world.

Why do human beings debase themselves morally and spiritually to the extent of selling their bodies? Is there any life in living a degrading life of prostitution and sex? What is the worth of humans if we live like animals and cast aside all moral laws as long as we can make the money to pay the bills? What are the forces behind unbridled sex, drugs, excessive consumption of liquor, licentiousness, libidinous debauchery, and pornographic lifestyles that dot many of our major big cities?

In the current spiritual warfare between the forces of Good and God on one hand and the forces of Satan and Evil on the other hand for the precious souls of human beings, we see with our naked eyes how these spiritual clashes play out in peoples' lives before our very eyes every day. We dismiss with the wave of the hand any mention of Satan and his demons because we pride ourselves as urbane, intellectually-sophisticated and civilized city-dwellers as opposed to rural people who pre-occupy themselves with such ancient old fables of demons, witches and wizards.

Yet, these creatures inhabit the flesh of human beings and exhibit their mannerisms that make a sober mind shudder. Can a grandmother marry her own grandson and we won't wonder what has become of our world? Is it only for money-making that Larry Flints Hustler's Sexual Revolution is destroying our society? What is that spirit of hard drugs such as cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine and other destroying substances that would hook a young man or woman to the extent of destroying his/her life and we all watch helplessly unable to do anything to rescue such a caged person?

Do we need to look further to demonic infestations in the mysterious and unspeakable acts, behaviors and mannerisms of human beings we read about in newspapers and watch on television? Who do we ascribe to the weird immoral behaviors of a father sleeping with his 13-year old daughter, a nation sanctioning the marriage of a -40- year old man to a 9-year old child, a pastor raping a -12- year old girl and other jaw-dropping stories in today's world headlines other than Satan and his demons? Our world is tearing apart and any one with spiritual eyes and insight will know the global train-wreck the human race has become. Where are we headed for God's sake?

This brings me to my third and last admirable movie of all time which speaks to our world today and the spiritual warfare we all face in the journey of life. I can watch Scarface over and over again, because beyond the sex, drugs, intrigues, murders and foul language in that classic are some subliminal messages, which the spiritual mind can grasp. That 1983 classic directed by Brian de Palma which starred one of my favorite artistes, Al Pacino as the main protagonist; in that classic we see the universal message that drives all human beings: lust for power, pride of life and the deceitfulness of riches. 'For everything in the world,' Apostle John warned in 1 John 2: 16: '--the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life--comes not from the Father but from the world.'

When Tony Montana (played by Al Pacino) a Cuban refugee fled his native Cuba in the 1980s with his friend, Manny Ray (played by Steven Bauer) and managed to settle in Miami, Florida, they exhibited all the pulls of immigrants to the United States: lure for personal freedom, escape from persecution and opportunities for a decent life. Leave it or hate it, the American Dream is still alive, but it is up to each and every one of us to discover and live it. Gradually, we saw how the lives of these two Cuban immigrants unraveled; the drug trade and cocaine mafia they joined, the death of Frank Lopez (played by Robert Loggia) and the ambition of Tony to marry Evira Hancock (played by Michelle Pfeiffer).

We saw the Bolivian drug cartel angle, the dastardly murder of Omar Suarez (played by Murray Abraham) for allegedly being a snitch by Alejandro Sosa (played by Paul Shenar). Gradually, we saw how Tony and Manny achieved their life ambitions and believed they were 'American Success Stories.' But at what costs did they achieve this so-called success? Eventually we saw the tragic ends of Manny killed by Tony for marrying his sister, Gina (played by Mary Mastrantonio) under heavy consumption of cocaine. Tony himself later got killed by Sosa's hit men.

The business empire built on drugs, lies, blood money, deception, selfish ambition and sex eventually crashed. The heroine in that classic is Tony's Mama, Georgina (played by Miriam Colon) who threw Tony out of her house and his blood money and warned her daughter, Gina of the foreboding tragedy. She was eventually proved right.

When we watch movies such as this, let's use the power and the insight of the Holy Spirit to look for the subtleties and subliminal messages behind such great works of art. James 3: 13: 16 told us: 'Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. Such 'wisdom' does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, and demonic.

For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.' In the world today, we are told that we all should strive at all costs to make it. The expression: 'make it' is that each of us should acquire as much as we can: money, houses, cars, properties, etc, and unfortunately all the food, clothing and shelter do not count; we will take nothing out of here, period! Tony Montana assassinated Frank and married Evira, he took over the business empire of his deceased boss and became the new mafia boss in Miami and drug money began to flow. He lived in a palatial mansion, rode the best automobiles in town and the more he acquired, the more he wanted more and more.

Peace and sleep eluded him; he soon became paranoid and was afraid of his own shadow, he soon lost interest in Evira, the lady he wanted badly who was a major propeller of his selfish ambition and eventually lost all. So you need to ask yourself; what really drives me? What do I want out of life? James gave a fascinating answer in James 3: 17 'the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.'

I sparred with a friend on the phone the other day as we were discussing when, tongue-in-cheek referred to a millionaire as a 'self-made man.' I asked him: 'How can you refer to a fellow creature as a 'self-made' man? I asked: Did this man have parents who gave birth to him? He said: Yes! Did anyone change his diapers when he was a baby?

Did he go to school and was taught by teachers; instructors who impacted fresh ideas and their own knowledge into him? Did he have employees who work for him? Did he have chauffeurs who drive him from one place to the other? Is he married with children? My friend answered: Yes to all my questions and so I told him he should not refer to the man as a 'self-made man.'

No human being can refer to him or herself as a 'self-made' person unless you created yourself and fall down from the sky. Even Satan and his demons cannot call themselves 'self-made' because Satan, who was formerly Lucifer, was created by the Lord God Almighty (Ezekiel 28: 14-19). It was because of his foolish pride, selfish ambition and sin that he and his rebellious angels known as principalities and demons were driven from heavens (Isaiah 14: 12-22).

These rebellious attitudes, pride, lies, deceptions, foolish pride and I-can-be-god-too that Satan sold to our First Parents in the Garden of Eden and Adam and Eve fell for the tricks and those deceptions are still being retailed by these fiendish forces among human beings today. Lamentably, many human beings are sucked in by Satan's lies and deception as Adam and Eve did in the Garden of Eden.

Just as our First Parents, Adam and Eve fell from grace and were disgraced by sin, many human beings who believe they can sin and get away with their sins will discover anon that the judgment of God is inevitable and will surely come unless they repent. I watched an interview on the now rested Larry King Live Program on CNN few years ago and Mr. King asked a movie mogul and 'a successful' icon if he believed in the Almighty God. The so-called Hollywood tin-god had this mirth smugness on his face shaking his head and replied; 'No, there is no God; I myself I am a god.' I shook my head at another 'loser' who would soon bite the dust to his eternal shame, knowing as the Psalmist said in Psalm 103: 14: this man is but a dust and 'What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.' (James 4: 14).

Another World Prediction Fulfilled: Al-Qaeda Step Aside, ISIS, The Mother Of All Islamic Terrorist Group Is Here

On Monday December 30, 2013 the Holy Spirit inspired us to make the following prediction in our Predictions and Prophecies for the Year 2014 in this column:-

'THE MIDDLE EAST: There will continue to be wars, instability and general state of anarchy in the Arab world and Israel will increasingly be the butts of hatred and animosity from her Arab neighbors in fulfillment of Bible prophecy. A new group of Islamic terrorist organization will spring up this year and announce the firing of Ayman al-Zawahiri.

The factional in-fighting will lead to power struggle and more of Al-Qaeda leaders will be eliminated by the United States (See section of Prophecies about the USA in subsequent editions). The King of Saudi Arabia should pray for his life in order to survive 2014. Ehud Barak should pray against undiagnosed ailment in 2014 and sickness. Former President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt may not survive the year 2014.'

June 12, 1993 Historic Election In Nigeria: 21 Years After. Will Nigeria Survive And Make It?

Every year, as long as there is a nation known and called Nigeria exists, the day June 12, 1993 will never and can never be wished away from the country's history. Now 21 years after the first and only freest and fairest and most transparent election in Nigeria was annulled by Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, when eventually Nigerian runs full circle and finally unravels, historians will ask when did the hemorrhage begin?

When did a nation come to this terrible shape and finally titters on the brink? Historians will point to this historic day when Chief Moshood Abiola won a presidential election but was not only stopped from exercising a freely given mandate but was killed in the process. The full history of Nigeria will be written at the appropriate time and those who put their lives on the line will be chronicled whether the agents of retrogression like it or not.

As I have noted in past articles and interviews, Nigeria will never be the same, even 21 years after this injustice was perpetrated. For those of us who were at the thick of it all, we paid with our freedom so that our generation and those after us will remember that we did not keep quiet when fear stalked our land and few madmen seemed determined to turn us into slaves in our fatherland. Again, we repeat the real and true story of Nigeria has not yet been written until Nigeria finally unravels and it shan't be long.
