RwandAir to begin direct flights to Abuja

Rwanda is to start direct commercial flights to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, a senior official of the country's flagship airline disclosed on Tuesday.

Mrs Fifi Rurangwa, the Country Manager of RwandAir in Lagos told journalists that plans were on to also increase the airline's daily flights to Nigeria's biggest city.

According to her, the airline was looking to improve the onboard flight experiences of passengers as well as its cargo delivery.

RwandAir has started flight operations into Accra, Ghana and a number of other cities in Africa from Lagos.

'The reason why most airlines increase their frequencies to Nigeria is because the demand is quite high, the opportunities are plenty.

'When we came onboard, we were not really known in the market, but the response was positive. We have flights to Dubai, which is one of the main destinations for Nigerian traders,' Rurangwa said.
