Sanusi Ado Bayero Emerges New Emir Of Kano

SAN FRANCISCO, June 08, (THEWILL) â€' Alhaji Sanusi Ado Bayero, the first son of the late Emir of Kano, has been named the new Emir of Kano.

The Kano Emirate Council on Sunday nominated Sanusi, who until his emergence was the Ciroman Kano.

He was born on April 01, 1956.
One of the top contenders and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mallam Lamido Sanusi, confirmed the development in a tweet.

'Sanusi Ado Bayero (Ciroman Kano) has been selected as the new Emir of Kano. Announcement to be made later,' Sanusi tweeted.

The Governor of Kano State, Mr. Rabiu Kwankwaso is expected to formally make the announcement later on Sunday.
