New CBN governor in Aso Rock, meets Jonathan

The new governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Godwin Emifiele Wednesday met with President Jonathan for about an hour, ostensibly to brief him about the planned unveiling of his agenda for the Bank.

When State House correspondents approached him for an interaction, Emefiele declined comment, pleading that he would unveil his blueprint as the CBN governor Thursday (tomorrow).

Mr Emefiele resumed as the CBN governor on Monday.


Jonathan, PDP BoT members meet
President Goodluck Jonathan yesterday evening met with members of the Board of Trustees of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) inside Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The meeting which was held behind closed door had Vice President Namadi Sambo in attendance ‎held at the Banquet Hall   started at about 8pm.

The BoT members were led to the meeting by their chairman, Chief Anthony Anenih.

The meeting is coming a day after members of the party’s national caucus met with the President at the same venue.

The party leaders will continue their consultation on today at the national headquarters of the party where the meeting of its National Executive Committee will hold.
