The Professional Practice Group of the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry has visited SIAO Partners, a firm of Chartered Accountants to familiarize itself with the company's business operations and operational Challenges.

The team during the visit listened to the topic “Mergers and Acquisitions: A Sharing of the SIAO Experience”

The strength of SIAO Partners is in the coming together of four accounting firms whose founding partners have gathered professional experience in excess of 100 years among themselves in various fields.

The firm's senior management consists of Ituah Ighodalo, Managing Partner, Robert Ade Odiachi, Partner and Ladi Smith, Partner.

Addressing the theme, Ladi Smith submitted that Partnership is a strategic merger alliance or relationship between two or more professional practitioners for the purpose of building synergy. Successful partnerships are often based on trust, equality, mutual understanding and obligations. Partnership he stated could be formal, where each party's roles and obligations are spelled out in a written agreement or formal where the roles and obligations are assumed or agreed to verbally.

He spoke extensively on the advantages of partnership and the disadvantages and why partnerships fail in some cases.

Finally, he expatiated on what should be done to create effective partnerships that are needed
