Obiano Lauds Obi, Others for Meritorious Awards

The Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano has applauded former Governor Peter Obi for the latest recognition and Meritorious Service Award conferred on him and other illustrious sons and daughter of Igbo land by Ndigbo Lagos.

Speaking on the heels of the grand reception held for the award recipients over the weekend, Governor Obiano said that the award to Governor Obi, and the former Minister of Aviation, Princess Stella Oduah and seven other illustrious sons of Igboland is well deserved. According to Obiano, 'the fact that Peter Obi has continued to garner accolades and garlands since he left office is enough recognition of the giant strides he made as governor and a source of joy to Ndi Anambra who are direct beneficiaries of the services rendered by the former governor.'

According to him 'This 2014 awards and honours on eight illustrious Igbo sons and daughter by Ndigbo Lagos is a testimony to their exemplary achievements in various fields of endeavor. I have no doubt that the gesture would inspire generations of Igbo sons and daughters to excellence.'

Governor Obiano also commended Ndigbo Lagos for setting standards for reward of hard work and services to Igbo land and Nigeria through the awards.
