Thousands dump APC in Edo North
Aggrieved members of the APC from the 32 wards of the three Estako local government areas of Edo state have resigned their membership of the party.

The mass resignation of the party members was sequel to the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum they are earlier gave to Governor Adams Oshiomhole to review the outcome of the party membership registration and ward and local government congresses which they described as sham.

The enlarged meeting of the aggrieved APC was presided over by the Edo State Deputy Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Usman Shagadi at Auchi, the administrative headquarters of Etsako West local government area weekend .

Others in attendance were the three former local government council chairmen from the area and they included Mr.Godwin Eshieshi, Chief Alemho Akhigbe and Evangelist Kassimu Dokpesi and the member representing the Estako Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Engr. Abubakar Momoh.

Former Deputy State Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Usaman Shagadi who recently resigned his membership of the party as well as his chairmanship of Edo City Transport Service (ECTS), said that they were leaving the party following the expiration given earlier by the group to Governor Adams Oshiomhole to cancel the outcome of the party membership registration and the congresses.

He said that the APC was practically dead in the three Etsako local government areas with the resignation of the aggrieved members, adding that within the next few days, they will decide their next option.

Also speaking at the occasion, former Etsako Central Local government council chairman, Chief Alemoh Akhigbe, disclosed that the governor rebuffed their entreaties to have a second thought over their grievances and dialogued with the group.

On his part, Evangelist Kassimu Dokpesi said the mass resignation of the members was a replay of what happened in Benin.
