Chibok Abduction: Names of 53 Girls Who Escaped Released

Isa Gusau, an Aide to Governor Kashim Shettima of Borno State has

confirmed a  list of 53 Chibok schoolgirls who escaped abduction from

suspected  Boko Haram Militants.
46 of the girls are Christian while seven are Muslims .

Gusau confirmed the 53 names today over the phone and stating the

“religion should not be part of the sentiment to ensure rescue of missing

girls
“The list includes those who escaped on the night of their capture at the

Government Secondary School Chibok, Borno State on April 14, as well as

those who escaped from the Boko Haram camps where they were being held.

“Seven of the girls are Muslims, while the remaining 46  are Christians,

according to information provided by their parents.

“The Muslims girls names are :  Habiba Yahya, Zarah Umoru, Hadiza Hamidu,

Hauwa Ibrahim, Yagana Musa, Aishatu Usman and Hamsatu Umoru.

” The 46 Christians who escaped are Amina Thlawur, Binawi Galam, Lucy

Dzakwa, Hauwa Thlawur, Kwanta Isa, Asabe Yaga, Hauwa Musa, Hauwa John,

Hannatu Joshua, Amina Yaga, Sarah Amos, Kauna Bitrus, Dinna Lawan, Hauwa

Sani, Luggwa Yahi, Hamatu Ibrahim, Pogu Bullum, Sanya, Nkeki Duds, Hannatu

Iliya, Saratu Musa, Solomi Yakubu, Mary Katambi, Awa Thlama, Mary Yaga,

Godiya Simon, Rejoice Yaga, Falmata Mutah, Patience Bulus, Dorcas Musa,

Mercy Paul, Rahap Pogu, Rifkatu Halai, Thlama Walla, Deborah Ishaya,

Hadiza Kwakwi, Filo Dauda, Amos Mufah, Naomi Lawan, Asabe Nkeki, Hadiza

Yama, Kuma Ishaku, Solomi Bitrus, Ladi Nkeki, Rahap Yaga and Comfort

” Please let's not allow some people divide us along religious lines. It

has been the number one goal of Boko Haram to set us against each other by

way of religious violence so that they hide while we kill each other.

“‎I saw the list this morning and I have can  confirmed it is

authentic. This is contrary to claims by some mischief makers including an

article by a Nigerian Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani Kayode who

promoted false allegations that Borno State Government paid Boko Haram

ransom to free Muslims from the abducted schoolgirls.”
