Abducted girls: Obama phones Jonathan, promises to send troops to help search

The President of the United States  Barrack Obama on Tuesday phoned President Goodluck Jonathan to offer his country’s assistance to Nigeria in the ongoing search for the more than 200 girls abducted from Govt Secondary School, Chibok.

Obama phoned Jonathan at about 3pm through the US Secretary of State.

The US president promised to send troops to Nigeria to offer their assistance in the ongoing search and rescue operations for the release of the captives. Presidential spokesman, Reuben Abati, revealed this to State House reporters this evening during a press conference. He said Jonathan also today mey with the service chiefs and had received updates from them, on the abduction of the schoolgirls. Details later
