Chibok Abduction: Turai Yar'Adua Calls For Prayers

Former First Lady, Hajiya Turai Yar'adua, has urged Nigerians to continue

to pray for the immediate release of the abducted schoolgirls in Chibok,

Borno.
She made the call on Monday in Katsina at the late President Umaru

Yar'adua's Memorial Lecture entitled: “An Evaluation and Contributions of

Gov Umaru Musa Yar'adua's Educational Development in Katsina State.”

Yar'adua, who condemned the abduction, said that Nigerians should continue

to pray to Almighty God to rescue the innocent girls and return them to

their parents.
She also urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the peace, unity and

stability of the country.
The former first lady said that her late husband was passionate about the

peace, unity and corporate existence of Nigeria.
She described her late husband as ''a practical leader who wanted peace in

the entire country, Umaru was a humble, loving and caring husband with

great love for the nation''.
In his remarks, the Guest Speaker, Prof. Munzali Jibril, also described

the late President as ”a humble leader, honest and exemplary leader”.

Jibril recalled that the late president had introduced different policies

and programmes that helped to revamp education in Katsina State during his

tenure as Governor of the state.
“The late President Yar'adua was a perfectionist and wanted everything to

be perfect,”  he said, and urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the

repose of his soul.(NAN)
