I raped my female victims -HIV-positive kidnapper

A  kidnap kingpin, Holy Ighoragbor, who is infected with HIV,  on Friday, confessed that he used to rape female victims held by their gang.

The gang of seven kidnappers was paraded at the premises of the State Security Service (SSS), Asaba, Delta State command.

The kidnappers are Sunday Ogisi, leader of the gang; Kesiena Onwubolu a.k.a (Kes); Holy Ighoragbor; John David; Moses Urhode; Samuel Onyekachi Onyema and Francis Oshevire.

According to the state director of SSS, Ms Florence Ikakone, the gang emerged sometime in January and have been responsible for many kidnap incidents in Warri and  its environs.

She said the gang was responsible for kidnap, murder and sale of victims' vehicles.

According to Ikakone, the gang kidnapped a female victim (names withheld), sold her Toyota Siena bus and shot her on her leg because her relative did not come with the ransom early enough.

The gang was also responsible for the kidnap of another female victim (names withheld) on January 19th and that of a lawyer, Stephen Olowu, on 25th January, according to the SSS.

The gang allegedly dumped the corpse of the lawyer into Otokutu River.

The gang sold the three vehicles snatched from their victims at give-away prices of N50, 000, N100, 000 and N120, 000 respectively, SSS said.

Holy Ighoragbor, who claimed to be an excavator operator, said he was unemployed and because he was HIV positive, he decided to join the kidnap gang to raise money for his treatment.

Ighoragbor admitted to having sex with their female victims while in captivity.

Responding to a question on why he had unprotected sex with female victims, he said he did not know the infection was incurable.
