Ekiti 2014: Police Must Investigate APC's Allegation On Plot To Burn Fayose Campaign Office - AFCO

By Lere Olayinka

The Ayo Fayose Campaign Organisation (AFCO) has called on security agencies in Ekiti State to investigate claim by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Mr Ayo Fayose planned to torch his own campaign office.

Director General of AFCO, Chief Dipo Anisulowo, who made this call in a statement issued on Thursday, said; "APC members are noted for accusing other people of planning to do what they are plotting to do."

AFCO said it was obvious that the APC thugs were planning to further carry out an attack on the AFCO campaign office as they did on April 7, 2014.

"For Governor Kayode Fayemi and his APC people to have made such an allegation, it means that they have facts and they must be made to come and substantiate it.

"The police and other security agencies in the State must therefore investigate the allegation because it is obvious that the allegation is just a diversionary tactic," AFCO said.

While describing the APC as a party of criminal minded people, AFCO said; "It is on record that the party Chairman in the State, Mr Jide Awe, a member of the State House of Assembly, Kehinde Boluwade and others are standing trial for murder.

"It is also on record that the Special Assistant to Governor Fayemi on Internal Security, Mr Adedeji Adesokan and others are standing trial for their alleged involvement in the attack on Fayose's campaign office on April 7, 2014.

"Therefore, if a party, whose major leaders are being tried for offenses as grievous as murder, gun-running and attempted murder, security agencies must investigate allegations of plans to commit crime coming from such a party."
