Ekiti 2014: PDP Chieftain assures of maximum votes from Ado
A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Mr Lati Ajijola has described as laughable, claim by the All Progressives Congress (APC) that Governor Kayode Fayose was adopted as the sole-candidate of the people of Ado-Ekiti, saying; "we in Ado Ekiti can say with 100 percent assurance that votes of Ado people will go to the PDP overwhelmingly."
Ajijola, in a statement issued today, said the campaign of calumny being orchestrated against the PDP governorship candidate, Mr Ayo Fayose that the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Oba Rufus Adejugbe will be deposed was a function of "fear of imminent defeat on the part of the APC."
He said: "I am a full-blooded son of Ado-Ekiti and from my interaction with Fayose, what Ado-Ekiti people will get from Fayose-led PDP government will be a total face-lift of the State capital, not removal of Ewi."
Ajijola, who challenged the APC government in the State to embark on issue based campaign, instead of peddling falsehood, added; "In the history of Ekiti state, has any governor done half of what Fayose did for Ado-Ekiti?
"Is it not a fact that it was Fayose that made Ado-Ekiti what it is today? Can anyone deny the fact that Fayose is the architect of the modern Ado-Ekiti?
"Apart from Old Garage to Ojumose and Atikankan to Baptist Church that Fayemi dualised, all the roads that were dualised in the State capital were done by Fayose.
"Fayose dualised Ijigbo - Ajilosun, Ijigbo - Ilawe, Fajuyi Park - Adebayo and Fajuyi Park - Bashiri roads. He also put street lights on the roads.
"Therefore, we in Ado-Ekiti will support Fayose and the PDP totally, and I as a person want to say that those going around saying that Fayose will depose Kabiyesi, the Ewi of Ado-Ekiti if elected are only showing that they no longer have any meaningful thing to say.
"It is my advise that they should rather tell us what new thing they want to do for Ado-Ekiti, not lazy talks of removal of Ewi, which is a lie."
