Gov Dickson Urges Nigerians To Compliment Efforts Of Fg In Tackling Security Challenges

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has urged Nigerians not to despair in the face of the current security challenges facing the country, but rather join hands with the Federal Government to curb the menace.

Governor Dickson, who spoke on Monday during a Easter Cantata service in his hometown, Toru-Orua in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, expressed optimism that the Country's Security challenges would soon fade into oblivion, with the effective collaboration of the citizenry and Governments at all levels.

While, describing Easter as a season of victory and authority over evil, he urged everyone to pray for the peace and security of nation, as well as an end to the evils being perpetuated by the insurgents in parts of the Country.

The Bayelsa State Governor, also enjoined Nigerians to jettison every sectional, Religious and Political interests, for the overall good as well as work and pray fervently for the peace, unity and stability of the country.

His words “Also pray for our President, the State government, be vigilant, assuring that what is happening will soon pass away and the country will be better for it”.

Governor Dickson expressed optimism, that the prevailing peace and unity in Bayelsa State will usher in the needed development, adding that, Bayelsa is already a State to be reckoned with in the comity of States in the Country.

In his message titled “Behold, He is Risen” Bishop of the Niger Delta-West Diocese of the Angilcan communion, Most Rev. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja disclosed that, Jesus Christ came to redeem mankind, noting that the power of resurrection has the ability to solve every problem affecting the life of man.

Most Rev. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, who explained the purpose of the Easter cantata, said “it can bring the power of resurrection to manifest in the life of the nation and its people, adding that Jesus is celebrated because he is risen”.

Governor Dickson and his wife, Dr. Rachael read the only lessons at the service.

There were choir presentations from the King of Glory Chapel, Restoration Choir and the Victorious voices as well as praise and worship songs from different church denominations, including Assemblies of God, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Holy Ghost Believers Church and Deeper Life Bible Church.
