Human Rights Report: One Nysc Officially-Stalutorily Receives N1 Million Naira, But Is Given A Pittance Of N240,000, The Rest N760,000 Is Eaten-Siphoned By Nysc Officials.
Wonders, they said, shall never end. This is not because wonders themselves are either always good or bad. It is merely because human beings that create the wonders change. Wonders here are not necessarily because the world is charging. But much more because man whose activities shape the world and control it, is 100% eratic. Therefore, wonders shall never end.
Not many NYSC members really know how much they are statutorily given by the Senate Approval. Each NYSC was annually officially given N760,000 when they were being given N15,000. Now, after much hew and cry, the National Assembly increased it to N1 million annually out of which a pittance of N19,500, approximately N20,000, is given to each member of NYSC, amounting N240,000 annually, the rest N760,000 is vociferously eaten by NYSC, Director-General all officials of NYSC as Director or Chairman, military attachees, instructors, trainers and all worth not that parade themselves as officials of NYSC.
Now tell me, how can poverty be eliminated from the society when each NYSC is officially allotted one million naira annually, but ends up receiving N240,000? Where is the rest N760,000? Who eats if monthly?
1. Federal Government is doyen of corruption
How can a sitting President see this happen, be seeing this happening and yet, keep quite? Almost on daily bases, billions are missingly-siphoned by politicians, ministers, permanent secretaries, directors-general and senior staff of ministries. Yet, Federal Government claims to be fighting corruption. Who is deceiving who in Nigeria?
Federal Government is deceiving Nigerians on Poverty Alleviation
That trash which Obasanjo created, Yar'Adua sustained and Goodluck Jonathan is practicing called Poverty Alleviation is the real conduit pipe satan gave to Nigerian Presidents to be deceiving their subjects. How can you alleviate poverty when officially 80% of what is allorted to each NYSC is wasted on criminals called NYSC officials?
True Poverty Alleviation
There is no way Federal Government can employ all graduates even in the so-called developed nations. No way. What is obtainable is that graduates sit down and think out business ideas, while Government helps out financially to start it. Federal Government cannot give loan to these grassrooters, but the cronies of the President or Vice Senators, politicians generally corner it.
So, to alleviate poverty, Federal Government must give each member of NYSC the N760,000 siphoned yearly by NYC officials to the candidate as savings while the N240,000 should be for their maintenance each year. Or, you give each NYSC the N1 million at graduation and disband the trash called NYSC which has outlived its usefulness in Nigeria.
For now, Goodluck Jonathan is fanning the embers of corruption and is helpless against it.
