In what could be termed an executive display of shame, two political heavyweights in Lagos State, Barrister Ademorin Aliu Kuye, the state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and Honourable Olugbenga Hakeem Abdullahi, famously known as Naa Gbenga, were engaged in messy public fight last Friday during a political meeting.

It was gathered that problem started when Abdullahi allegedly questioned Kuye's rationale for moving a motion for the imposition of candidates instead of going through the normal process of screening.

The duo literarily turned the political meeting, which took place at the Somolu Local Government Banquet Hall, to a boxing ring.image

According to those present during the fight, Kuye, a former Chairperson of Somolu Local Government Council, moved a motion that candidates for the forthcoming Ward Congress should not be screened, an action which is alien to the party.

His motion didn't go down well with other party members who immediately shouted him down.

Abdullahi, who was sitting close to Kuye, tried to correct him and at same time reminded him of the implication of his motion on the party.

Apparently angered by Abdulahi's counsel, Kuye reportedly descended on him in Commando's styles with countless punches.

Abdullahi, 57, who never expected the heavy blows; fell flat on his back.

Still not done, some of Kuye's thugs, who were hanging around, invaded the meeting venue and dealt with Abdullahi mercilessly.

Other members present who saw the looming disaster fled the venue for safety and the meeting was brought to an abrupt end.

Kuye, who bagged a Post-Grduate Diploma in Theology from the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, is a known aggressive politician.

Meanwhile, Abdullahi, who is currently nursing some injuries inflicted on his face has vowed to seek for justice.

Abdullahi, alongside some party leaders in Somolu, had reported the assault to Alade Police Station, Somolu.

The battered politician has also filed a petition to the Panti Police Station and plans to send the petition to the Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and other APC leaders.
