Governor Obiano Warns Against Encroachment On Government Property

By James Eze

The Governor of Anambra State Chief Willie Obiano has warned that his administration would deal decisively with anyone encroaching on government property in the state.

The Governor read the riot act on Tuesday April 1, 2014 while supervising the dismantling of illegal structures mounted by a transporter inside a government recreation park located at Upper Iweka Road, Onitsha.

Governor Obiano made it clear that his government would not tolerate acts of indiscipline or lawlessness from any quarters. He explained that the park was designed and beautified for recreation and not for loading of vehicles.

Addressing a jubilant crowd that trooped out to the scene in support, the Governor said that the government is doing everything necessary to protect and promote the collective interest of the people and assured that all who remain law abiding have nothing to fear.

A transporter had last week invaded the Recreational Park under construction, drove away workers on site and locked up the site for personal use as motor loading site.
