Mark mourns Senator Oduoye …….says he was a fine officer and gentleman

President of the Senate, Senator David Mark has described the sudden death of Senator Simeon Olasunkanmi Oduoye who died after a brief illness as sad and indeed a huge loss. Senator Mark in his condolence message to the immediate family, the Government and people of Osun State said the late legislator was a distinguished officer and a gentleman of very high standing.

He recalled the contributions of the deceased while in the Senate, saying “Senator Oduoye was a fine parliamentarian, an astute administrator and a God fearing Nigerian.

            Senator Oduoye , a retired Assistant Inspector General of Police(AIG) was military Administrator of Niger and

             Ebonyi states respectively .
According to Mark:”He lived his life for the services of our dear country. As the then Military administrator of Niger and Ebonyi States , Senator Oduoye was a disciplinarian, a responsible and trustworthy gentleman. “We will surely miss his calm disposition and patriotism. We in the Senate are proud to have associated with him and we will continue to remember him.” The Senate President while calling on the family to take solace in the fact that late Oduoye lived an exemplary life worthy of emulation, urged them to sustain his legacy of hard work, dedication and selfless services to the society.
