NANS Condemn Students Killings....And Rejects National Conference

The National Association of Nigerian Students (⁠NANS⁠) Zone A has expressed great concern on the deteriorating security situation in the North East of the Country and Condemn in the straight clear terms the murder of school children.

The call was contained in a statement signed by Mohammed B. Yusuf, Communique Drafting Committee Chairman in reaction to the insecurity in the Northern Region of the Country, Policies affecting Nigerian students and National Conference.

Expressing total shock and bewilderment over the insurgent that has found a new penchant in ruthlessly

killing unarmed and helpless Nigerian Students and the inability of government to carry out it's civic responsibility of protecting the innocents.

'It is equally glaring evidence that the Federal government does not care about the safety of school children and Nigerian students as demonstrated by the happy and ceremonial president of the country,' NANS said.

They further expressed their view on the National Conference which kicked off of recent that it is not in their interest and they reject in totality its outcome.

'Let it be known that in times like this, we ought as a nation to finding lasting solutions to the pending National problems not a deviation. The National Conference as proposed is aim at creating more political diversion, religious instability and hatred amongst Nigerians.'

"We adopt and endorse the Kano Declaration of the Northern Elder Forum which was led by Amb. Maitama Sule in bringing a lasting solution to the menace in the North East."
