Senate President Senator David Mark has sent a message of condolence to the government and people of Ondo State over the death of the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Samuel Adesina.

Adesina was reported to have died from a protracted battle with cancer.

Senator Mark in a condolence message to the governor Segun Mimiko and members of the state house of Assembly described Adesina's death as a painful loss not only to the people of Ondo state but to the nation particularly to the legislature.

He noted the robust contributions of Adesina to the development of the legislature in Nigeria and lamented that the late Speaker has created a vacuum that would be hard to fill.

The Senate President said Adesina departed when his wealth of legislative experience would have been needed to unravel some of the critical legislative issues in nation's body of laws.

He however urged the people of Ondo state especially the bereaved family to take solace in the fact that late Adesina lived a short but accomplished life worthy of emulation.

” The only way to imortalize him, is to uphold his legacies of hard work, forthrightness and unshakable belief in the indi visibility of Nigeria,” Senator Mark stated.
