Navy moves 75 senior officers
The authorities of the Nigerian Navy have released the redeployment of 75 senior officers for various command and staff appointments within the service, the Defence Headquarters and other tri-service institutions of the Armed Forces.
The Director of Information of the Nigerian Navy, Commodore Kabiru Aliyu, said in an electronic on Wednesday that the exercise affected 29 Rear Admirals, 28 Commodores and 18 Captains.
Aliyu said that the appointments were expected to take effect from February 14- 27 2014.
He said that the former Chief of Policy and Plans, Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral Ogboi is now Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters while the former Director of Logistics, at the Defence headquarters, Rear Admiral SA Akinwale is the new Director, Project Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation.
According to him, Rear Admiral AOA Ikioda is Chief of Policy and Plans, Rear Admiral IE Ibas, Chief of Logistics and Rear Admiral IA Oyagha, Chief of Training and Operations, at the Naval Headquarters.
Other appointments include Rear Admiral SH Usman, Flag Officer in charge of Logistics Command, Rear Admiral PA Agba Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command, Yenagoa, Rear Admiral OC Medani Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Calabar, Rear Admiral IA Ajuonu, Group Managing Director /CEO Navy Holdings Limited, Rear Admiral OE Ekwe, Admiral Superintendent Naval Dockyard Limited and Rear Admiral DO Osuofa, Navy Secretary.
Also appointed were Rear Admiral AB Afolayan, Director of Medical Services, Rear Admiral OP Ozojiofor, Director of Training at the Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral A Shettima Managing Director, Naval Hotels and Suites Limited, Rear Admiral OU Emele, Director of Logistics, Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral A Johnson, Commander Fleet Support Group (West), Rear Admiral LON Iwuoha, Admiral Superintendent, Naval Doctrine and Assessment Centre and Rear Admiral HO Ngonadi, Director of Development at the Defence Headquarters.
Others are Surgeon Rear Admiral TGS Epelle, Director Medical (Admin/Logistics) Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral EG Ofik, Chief Staff Officer, Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral SE Ogoigbe, Deputy Commandant, Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji, Rear Admiral AL Akintola, Admiral Superintendent, Naval Shipyard, Port Harcourt.
Aliyu also said that Rear Admiral JKZ Ango was appointed the Director of Plans at the Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral AA Osinowo, Chief Staff Officer, Headquarters, Naval Training Command, Apapa Lagos, Rear Admiral RO Osondu, Chief Staff Officer, Logistics Command, Oghara, Rear Admiral JO Oluwole, Director of Equipment, Standardization and Harmonization at the Defence Headquarters and Rear Admiral FD Bobai, Chief Staff Officer, Headquarters Eastern Naval Command.
The Navy Chief also appointed Rear Admiral AO Odeh as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Naval Engineering Services Limited and Rear Admiral SA Ahmadu, Commander, Central Pay Office, Apapa, Lagos.
Among some of the Commodores involved in the exercise are Commodore OE Uwadiae who is the Commander, NNS BEECROFT, Commodore EG Ochai, Commander NNS PATHFINDER and Commodore BT Yusuf, Director of Naval Accounts.
