BEVERLY HILLS, February 10, (THEWILL) - The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said on Monday that the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot fool Nigerians with the extension of its ongoing nationwide membership.

Describing the exercise as fraudulent, PDP commended Nigerians for shunning the registration which, according to it, has resulted in the extension of the exercise.

The PDP said the development has shown that Nigerians were not fooled in spite of the attempts by   APC to hoodwink the people ,undermine the electoral process and coax unsuspecting Nigerians by allegedly portraying the exercise as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) voter registration.

'This is the first sign of rejection for the boastful APC.

It is a clear indication that the party is neither on ground nor does it command the followership its claims.

They have now seen that true membership and public support are not secured through media hype and propaganda', the PDP said in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Chief Olisa Metuh.

The statement said 'It beats imagination that the APC is making mountain out of molehill over ordinary membership registration,' adding ' Besides our great party, other opposition political parties have hitherto successfully conducted the same exercise without over-heating the polity as the APC unnecessarily does at the moment.

' Accusing  APC of constituting itself as a nuisance in the political landscape, PDP the opposition party   to learn to be more humble, noting that arrogance and pride which, it alleged,  are APC's hallmark have set the party on an irreversible downfall, well ahead of the general elections.
