The Anambra government says it will soon establish two new ministries to further improve the economy and service delivery in the state.

Mr Oseloka Obaze, Secretary to the State Government (SSG) made the disclosure in an interview with newsmen in Awka on Wednesday.

According to Obaze, the new ministries are that of Petroleum and Information Communication Technology (ICT) .

'The Ministry of Petroleum will help to harness the natural resources in the state to boost the employment of professionals in the field.

'As an oil producing state, the need to actualise the goal of good life and poverty alleviation for the people has become imperative,' Obaze said

He said that the ICT Ministry would ensure that every school-age in the state was computer literate.

Obaze said that schools in the 177 communities of the state had received computers, adding that it was imperative that professionals be employed to improve computer education.

He said that a committee that would assess and proffer more genetic ideas had been set up to ensure smooth transition to incoming administration.

'We are working as a party since it is the same party that is incoming and governance is a process.

'It is like a relay race; programmes will be planned to fall in sequence for optimal benefit of the citizenry.

'We know that the incoming governor has its own programme, but our party ideology need to be placed before him for continuity to ensure that no project is abandoned,' he said.
