Police in Enugu arrest Ejike Mba, implicated in murder case

The Police in Enugu State have arrested one of the principal suspects in connection with the murder of a traditional ruler, HRH Moses Ugwu, (Ode 1 of Umuode) in Nkanu East Local Government Area.

The suspect, one Ejike Mba, who hails from Oruku in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State, and his gang members, who are still at large, have been on the run since September 9, 2012.

They allegedly murdered the monarch in his provision storeĀ at about 7.40 pm and took to their heels.

Confirming the arrestĀ  the spokesman of the police in the state, Ebere Amaraizu disclosed that the “suspect, who is about 26 years of age is a kingpin involved in the murder of the monarch.

“He has been at large with his gangs after the commission of the murder; following a manhunt against him and his gang by the eagle eyed operatives of the special Anti Robbery Squad, (S.A.R.S) Enugu, information emerged about where he attended a function and concealed his presence in Oruku, also in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State.
