The national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Adamu Mu'azu, has held a closed door meeting with a former Nigerian president, Olusegun Obasanjo, as part of the ongoing reconciliation in the party.

At the meeting held at Obasanjo's hilltop residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State Capital in south-west Nigeria, both men looked at how to get back aggrieved members of the party.

The outcome of the meeting, which lasted for about one and half hours, was not made public to journalists who thronged the former president's private home.

The Ogun PDP governorship aspirant, Jelili Amusan, believed to be privy to the meeting, told journalists that the meeting was part of the steps the party was taking to reconcile aggrieved members of the party in the build up to the 2015 general elections.

Mr Obasanjo had written to the leadership of the PDP few weeks back, stating his intention to withdraw from activities of the party, but he is believed to have huge influence on party members.
