Security Defence arrests 2 electric cable vandals in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa on Wednesday said it had arrested two suspected vandals.


The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr Muhammad Gidado, told newsmen in Dutse that the suspects were arrested in Ringim town around 3:30   a.m. in Bakin Kasuwa quarters.


Gidado said the suspects were arrested while cutting street light armoured cables on Bakin Kasuwa road by men of the command.


“The suspects were arrested while digging and cutting away street light armour cables along Bakin kasuwa road in Ringim,” he said.


The commandant said the suspects had confessed to have committed the offence.

Gidado said preliminary investigation had revealed that the suspects worked in group in Jigawa and neighbouring states.


The commandant said the suspects would soon be charged to court.
