Okorocha Calls On Nigeria Legion To Eschew Rancour

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has called on the leadership of Nigeria Legion to resolve to work harmoniously without rancour to enable them achieve the desired objective for her members saying as ex service men, they are to give exemplary leadership to their people.

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, who was represented by his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere, who was honoured by the Nigeria Legion during the Armed Forces and Remembrance Day, which held at Heroes Square said, Nigeria Legion has so much still to offer to the Nation.

Speaking at the event, the Nigeria Legion recognized him as the Grand Patron of the Nigeria Legion owing to his humanitarian services towards the body as well as his five star performances in providing dividends of democracy to the people of Imo.

The ceremony, which witnessed large turn out of dignitaries from Imo State Government led by the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere, officers of Nigeria Army, members of Nigeria Legion and members of the general public, did not fail the people's expectation especially from the State government.

Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere also announced redemption of Governor Okorocha's pledge to Nigeria Legion. The wives of the fallen heroes also received N500, 000 from the office of the First Lady, Nneoma, Nkechi Okorocha.

Meanwhile, Imo Governor through his Deputy called on the people to always remember the plight of the wives fallen heroes by extending hands of goodwill to them saying such sacrifice is the height anyone could pay.
