BEVERLY HILLS, CA, January 04, (THEWILL) - A sinister plot by some powerful indigenes of Ugborodo , said to be close to the Delta State Government, to induce a combined team of the Army and Navy to launch an early morning attack on the town on Saturday, January 4  at  about 3am has been uncovered.

According to the plan, a  combined army and navy team is to storm Aruton and Ode-Ugborodo communities in Warri South West Local Government Area over trumped up allegation of illegal bunkering activities and crude oil theft against the people of the community.

The plot, according to sources,  has reached an advanced stage with the Navy team from the NNS Delta team led by one lieutenant  already  briefed and primed for the operation.

Accusing fingers are however pointing to two Itsekiri youth leaders   -  Ayiri Emami and Thomas Ereyitomi, believed to be associates of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan,  in the controversial N26billion Export Processing Zone project to be sited in Ogidigben, near Ugborodo.

Emami and  Ereyitomi, who had allegedly sponsored several attacks  on the community following   strong opposition against their activities,  were said to have raised the false alarm and allegation of illegal bunkering against the community.

Impeccable sources said  the plot to invade Ugborodo  was to  hoodwink security operatives and pin  the hideous crime on the locals perceived to be opposed to the  plot by the duo to allegedly corner  the  N6billion Ugborodo New Town project for which they have allegedly misappropriated N3.

8bn.
"The crime of these innocent, defenseless Nigerians is that they dare  to speak out against injustice and maladministration of their funds and massive corruption in the Ugborodo New Town project for which N3.

8bn has been siphoned and frittered from the government coffers with nothing on ground to show for the huge sum over the years .

"It is baffling that Ayiri and his cohorts are the ones speaking out against illegal bunkering"! "It was this same Ayiri, who on 29th September, 2012, in the palace of and in the presence of the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, and other chiefs, openly canvassed support for illegal bunkering and pipeline vandalism, even though he was a director of the Oil Facilities and Surveillance Limited.

" Can such persons be taken serious in the fight against illegal bunkering, particularly when his sibling and those of his friend and associate, Thomas Ereyitomi have illegal refineries in Ajudaibo and Ogidigben? Can Ayiri, whose wealth comes from the supply of diesel to multinational oil firms, feign ignorance about the activities of his siblings and those of his friend and business partner? Suffice to say that the imaginary excuse of illegal bunkering adduced for this planned invasion of these peace-loving communities is tantamount to giving a dog a bad name in order to hang it.

There are no illegal bunkerers in these communities.

"Those planning the invasion are in a better position to know this because they are the ones hobnobbing with illegal bunkerers in the area," an impeccable source craving anonymity, said.

However, efforts  to reach either Emami or Ereyetomi when filing this story proved abortive as they did not pick telephone  calls made to them through their mobile phones.
