Uduaghan Justifies CAN President's Support For President Jonathan
Lauds Cleric's Role In Peace In Delta BEVERLY HILLS, CA, December 24, (THEWILL) - Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan has justified the support President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor is giving the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. Uduaghan, speaking when he paid a Christmas visit to Oritsejafor at his residence in Warri on Tuesday, also commended the CAN's President for the great role he played in restoring peace to Delta State. The Governor who paid similar visit to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, thanked the monarch for ensuring that there was peace in his domain for developmental projects to take place. Uduaghan who was accompanied on the visit by the member representing Warri Federal Constituency, Mr. Daniel Reyenieju and other top government officials, praised the CAN's President for supporting the administration of President Jonathan. "I want to also emphasize what you have been doing at the National level as the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, strongly and prayerfully you have been supporting the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in accordance with the Scriptural injunction". "That is the current administration today and you are showing as the President of CAN that once there is somebody on the seat, the person must be supported prayerfully and the person must be counseled from time to time". 'I know people have misunderstood this position and misinterpreted it but since you are doing God's work, you know that God will also guide you,' he said. The Governor also disclosed that Oritsejafor made great sacrifice, sometimes at the risk of his life working with the State Government to restore peace to the state, explaining that people like the CAN's President put in a lot of hard work and prayers for the prevailing peace in the state. Oritsejafor in his response thanked Uduaghan for felicitating with him during the Christmas season and acknowledged the humble disposition of the governor, attributing the successes of his administration to that unique attribute. "Your humility stands you out for you are a humble man and anybody who does not recognize that is being mischievous," Pastor Oritsejiafor told Uduaghan , adding, "because of your (Dr Uduaghan's) disposition to people, God has always given you help and I believe strongly, Delta State will remember you, Nigeria will always remember you." In a related development, Governor Uduaghan has thanked the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II for ensuring that there was peace in his domain for developmental projects to take place. The Governor noted that because of the peaceful disposition of the Olu, a lot of projects were going on in his domain, disclosing that the President Goodluck Jonathan's administration has approved the construction of a $16 billion dollars gas gathering plant in Delta State. He also informed the monarch that work on the Ode-Itsekiri Bridge, Koko-Ugbenu road dualization and Abigborodo road had reached advanced stages of completion. The Olu in his response thanked Governor Uduaghan for his achievements and prayed God to give him more strengthen and wisdom to pilot the affairs of the state.
