Port Harcourt APC Rally: An Eye Opener To Amaechi – PDP

The Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, says the near empty

stadium that greeted Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi's guests who were

mobilized to witness his official declaration for the All Progressives

Congress, APC, is enough counsel that he is no longer relevant in Rivers

political calculation.
The PDP in a statement by the Special Adviser on Media to the State

Chairman, Jerry Needam said the poor turnout of supporters that marked the

APC rally which left the only 14,000 capacity stadium yawning for

occupation should be a source of worry to Gov Amaechi who had earlier

boasted for over 40 million crowd.
Even with the scanty turn-out, the statement noted that those that

attended the rally were mainly a rented crowd who were pad N30,000 each by

Amaechi's council chairmen under duress.
The party notes that the surprise package has forced a bewildered Amaechi

to claim that today's event is no longer a declaration rally but to

announce that the federal government is ruling with impunity.

Is mere observation or announcement of one's assumption enough reason to

bring the National Exco of the APC including a former Head of State to

Rivers State for a rally at this busy period of Christmas, the PDP

queried.
Not expressing surprise over the cheap denial, the PDP recalls a similar

contradiction when in 2011 while addressing a political rally in Port

Harcourt, Gov Amaechi openly declared that those who carry broom are

sourmen and juju priests and today he is carrying broom, a proof that he

is a juju priest who should have no place in a Christian state like

Rivers.
“It's in the light of this that we can never be perturbed and also wish to

advise all those rented to fill the empty stadium as APC supporters with

the promise of monthly salaries through SURE-P to beware of a man who

changes his statement minute per minute”, the PDP stressed.
