Facts have emerged on how Kwara State Governor, Bukola Saraki, and controversial players' agent, John Shittu, sold tissues of lies to the Presidential Task Force (PTF) Chairman, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, on how Glenn Hoddle was denied Super Eagles' job because some members of the panel demanded kick-back.

Governor Saraki and Shittu it was alleged went to the PTF chairman to complain that the British coach was robbed which led to the setting up of an investigative panel that looked into the allegations which were found the allegation to be baseless and malicious.

A member of the interview panel, who described Shittu as an interloper, and a confusionist, revealed how the London-based Shittu smuggled himself into Hoddle's camp like the thief in the night, wanting to collect $500,000 for doing nothing.

“It is sad that Shittu deceived Governor Saraki easily to the extent that both of them went to Governor Amaechi to accuse the panel of demanding kick-back from Hoddle,” our source said. “We met Shittu for the first time in London when he came to our hotel and offered to take us out for dinner. He never told us anything about Hoddle.

“In fact, it was a London-based football analyst and commentator, Gath Cruz, that introduced Hoddle to the panel and he came to Nigeria with him as his agent. Hoddle was favoured for the job before Lars Lagerback came and we were shocked when his negotiation paper was signed by him and Shittu. We called Hoddle and he said that Shittu came into the picture because some people in the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) asked him to include his name as his agent. We had to return the paper because it was Cruz that we know as Hoddle's agent; not Shittu.
