Gov. Sullivan Chime of Enugu State on Wednesday urged intending Christian pilgrims from Enugu State to be good ambassadors of the state during their stay in the Holy land.

Chime said this in Enugu at a one-day sensitisation workshop for the over 300 potential pilgrims.

Chime, who was represented by Mr Eze O. Eze, Permanent Secretary (Admin), Office of the Secretary to the State Government, said that this would encourage government’s continued sponsorship of the exercise.

“Some of you think that this exercise is the extension of their business trip or a veritable avenue for escape, but l hope you are all very responsible people that will not disappoint the state.

“Adhere strictly to the instructions given to you by your tour guide and bus leaders so that by the time you come back, government will be encouraged to sponsor others'', he said.

Earlier, the Chairman, Enugu State Christian Welfare Board, Rev. Fr. John Nwafor said the workshop was designed to enlighten potential pilgrims on what was expected of them during the exercise.

He tasked the pilgrims to ensure that the primary intention of the exercise which he said was for spiritual transformation remained their guiding principle in the course of the pilgrimage.
