NSE: Benchmark rate up 1.04 per cent buoyed by Dangote Cement

The equities market advanced 1.04% on Tuesday helped by Dangote Cement, which enjoyed good measure of transactions as it gained 2.70 per cent.

Dangote cement is the most capitalized stock on the floor of the exchange. Market breadth stayed low at 0.93x with 24 stocks appreciating against 25 declining as volume and value traded increased by 27.91% and 1.03% respectively.

TRANSCORP topped the chart in terms of volume and value traded. The top advancers were CONOIL and FO gaining 10.22% and 4.99% respectively, while on the laggard’s side, NEM and ASHAKACEM shed 5% and 4.96% respectively.

Equities across sectors posted positive returns with NESE30, NSE BNK10, NSEOILG5 and NSE INS10 gaining 0.64%, 0.47% and 3.19% 0.56% respectively.

MRS and AIICO released Q3 numbers with respective turnovers of 31.74% and 18.10% respectively, while earnings growth of 353.54% and 56.55% respectively.
