Gov. Gaidam Assures That Government Will Provide Hospitals With Modern Equipment
Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has said that government will equip all hospitals it awarded for renovation with modern facilities immediately after completion for enhanced healthcare services in the state.
The Governor stated this yesterday while inspecting the completed renovation work of General hospital Damagum awarded by his administration three months ago.
Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam disclosed that the mission of his administration on healthcare was to create conducive working atmosphere that will attract professional health workers for the benefit of the common man in the state.
The Governor therefore said that after completion, the hospitals under renovation which includes that of Damaturu and Buni Yadi among others will be fully equipped for better service.
Speaking on Doctors in the state, Alhaji Ibrahim Gaidam disclosed that government has mapped out several measures that will ensure the availability of qualified doctors among other medical staff adding that already an automatic appointment is guaranteed for any medical doctor wishing to work in Yobe .
The Governor expressed satisfaction with the quality and speed of the project and commended the contractor handling the project for a job well done.
He therefore directed the chairman of Fune local government to ensure landscaping of the hospital after the renovation work.
Speaking during the visit, the Chief Nursing Officer of the hospital Sheriff Ali Mohammed commended Governor Ibrahim Gaidam for fulfilling all promises made during his last visit to the hospital.
Sheriff Ali Mohammed said that immediately after the Governor's departure during his last visit, the hospital received a new ambulance, a medical doctor, borehole and fencing while contract for the complete renovation of the hospital was also awarded as promised by the governor.
The Chief Nursing Officer therefore described Governor Ibrahim Gaidam as a man of his words worthy of emulation by all.
The Governor was later conducted round the renovated work of the hospital by the commissioner incharge of the ministry of housing, Alhaji Ango Dala.
