Olunloyo's mum was an epitome of motherhood – Ajimobi

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State has extolled the virtues of the late mother of a former governor of the state, Dr. Omololu Olunloyo, Madam Tejumola Bintu Olunloyo, describing her as an epitome of womanhood.

The governor spoke at the 8th day fidau for Madam Olunloyo held at the Molete, Ibadan residence of the former governor.

He described her as an extremely intelligent woman who demonstrated a high sense of love, care and affection in the upbringing of her children.

“I was close to Mama while she was alive. She was a disciplinarian who would not take `No' for an answer. At the same time, she was a woman who would be ready and willing to do everything humanly possible to ensure the well-being of her children.

“She was a great aunt from the Olugbesan family; she was very caring and she stood for everything that was good. No wonder, she had great children like Dr. Olunloyo who is an icon and a successful personality by all standard,'' the governor remarked.

The occasion was graced by eminent personalities from all walks of life, including the immediate past governor of the state, Otunba Adebayo Alao-Akala, Chief Kola Daisi, Chief Omowale Kuye, Prof. Akinwumi Ishola, Chief Adebayo Akande and his wife, Chief Nike Akande among others.

In his remarks, Dr. Olunloyo expressed appreciation to those who graced the occasion, saying that it was an expression of love and affection for the Olunloyo family.

He described his late mother as a warrior who defied all odds to ensure that she made her marks and gave all his children the necessary upbringing which helped in no small measure that their life attainments.
