Appeal Court Orders Governor Kayode Fayemi To Reinstate Sacked LG Treasurers, DAs

Court of Appeal in Akure, Ondo State has ordered the immediate reinstatement of the Treasurers and Directors of Administration (DA) of Local Councils in Ekiti State sacked by Governor Kayode Fayemi in

2011.
The Appeal Court upheld the earlier judgment of the Industrial Court, Ibadan, which described the sack of the Treasurers and DAs as illegal.

It should be recalled that LG Treasurers and DAs in Ekiti State were sacked in 2011 by Governor Fayemi because they didn't pass his examination.

Many of the Treasurers and DAs still had more than 13 years to spend in d service as at the time they were sacked.

With this judgment, salaries and entitlements of the sacked Treasurers and DAs will have to be paid from the day of their illegal sack till date!
