We're working to address security challenges ahead of 2015 elections – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has doused concerns over security challenges in the country ahead of 2015 elections, saying it is hopeful that security concerns in some parts of the country would have been addressed before then.

Speaking at a meeting with chairmen of state independent electoral commissions in Abuja on Tuesday, the national chairman of the commission said the it was constantly meeting with security agencies and working hard to ensure everything was ready to help conduct credible elections in such areas of concern.

There have been several reports of ballot box snatching, intimidation of voters and other violent activities in several elections conducted by the commission in the recent past, which has raised  concerns among Nigerians about the possibility of having a free and fair election in Nigeria.
