New Look Enerhen Junction, Calls For Culture Of Cleanliness Uduaghan Commissions

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan weekend, commissioned the Junction Improvement Work at the Enerhen  road and Enerhen Motel junction with assurance that such would be replicated in different junctions in Effurun and its environs, saying, “we have embarked  on urban renewal in this part of the state because our people are not dirty.”

“This improvement work we have done here is to state that fact that we can be clean,” Dr. Uduaghan said, adding that the Enerhen junction was reputed for criminal activities which would be checke with the improvement of the junction.

“We will replicate this in other major junctions across the state and we want your continuous support,” he said, adding, “we must keep our surroundings clean and ensure that wastes are properly disposed of.”

The Governor disclosed that contract for the construction of a fly over to ease traffic congestion at the PTI Road Junction has been awarded and the contractor has mobilized to site.

Commissioner for Special Duties, Special Infrastructure, Dame Orezi Esievo, in an address said, “as part of the Urban Renewal Strategy of Governor Uduaghan’s administration, the state government approved the execution of Junction Improvement Works in 12 junctions/road intersections in Asaba/Effurun metropolis at a cost of N3, 175, 773, 182.66.”

The main objective of the works was to decongest the selected junctions and to promote free flow of traffic in them thereby, enhancing economic and social activities in both cities,” Dame Esievo said.

She added that “the popular Enerhen junction was deliberately selected for commencement of the project because it was easily the most challenging in terms of congestion and hardship experienced by residents as a result of incessant traffic jams and other difficulties.”
