Help Unimaid Solve Water Problems

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the University of Maiduguri Alhaji Ballama Manu has requested for assistance from the Borno Stste Government to solve the water shortage of the institution, resurface roads within the complex as well as provide them with some housing for its staff.

Speaking when he psid a coutesy visit on Governor Kashim Shettima at the government house in Maiduguri on Thursday the pro-chancellor said he eas happy that peace is returning to Maiduguri.

"The University of Maiduguri is trully a Nigerian univerdity which ee are proud of. Unlike other States the Borno State Government has never interfered with the internal politics of the University.

Alhaji Ballama Manu also observed that the students population and staff of the University lubricates the economy of the state through the payment of their income tax as well as trade with the local community.

The pro-chancellor promised that the University will always stand by the Borno State government.

Responding to the Pro-Chancellor Governor Kashim Shettima said that the Univerdity of Borno is one of the most peafefil institutions in the country adding that "this is one area where the Boko Haram ideology did notnfind any footing for its ideology".

He praised the management for sustaining its flag flying and giving hooe for the future as our strength lies in our diversity.

The governor assured the university delegation of a fruitful partnership with the state government.
