By The Citizen

Three  lucky Glo subscribers, Joe Sunday, a businessman, Amos Iorkumbul, a student and Archibong Etim, a civil servant who recently emerged winners in the ongoing Glo 'Recharge to Stardom' promo, have collected their cheques of N1 million each at a special prize presentation ceremony held in Enugu on Thursday.

Declaring his joy at winning such a huge amount in the promo, Amos Lorkumbul, a student who just graduated from the Benue State University said he could not believe his ears when he got the life changing call. 'My Mum was dancing 'Unlimited' throughout the night. I want to say a big thank you to Glo and Dr. Mike Adenuga. Yesterday, I was just a student sleeping in the house, today Glo has made me a millionaire', he exclaimed.

Another winner of N1 million, Archibong Etim, a civil servant who works at a federal government agency in Uyo said that Glo's anniversary promo has convinced him that he did not make a mistake when he joined the Glo network over nine years ago.  'Glo has always been the primary line for my personal use and for my business. Glo has done wonderfully well and I am now certainly an evangelist for Glo. I pray that the company will continue to grow from strength to strength', he said.

Joe Sunday, an Aba-based businessman who won N1 million in the promo, expressed his gratitude to Glo for the special reward. He explained that though he started using the line in January because it was better and more economical to contact his family in the UK, he was not expecting to win any prize. 'I am glad and really grateful to Glo. It shows that they value their customers. In appreciation, I will now roam my line whenever I am in the UK. I am also going to invest in my business and buy a romantic gift for my wife', he said.

Ten other lucky Glo subscribers also collected their cheques at the occasion as the Glo anniversary promo train moved to the South East and the South South regions. The winners include Oliver Ndubuisi, Prince Favor, Ubong Ukpekpem, Wari Edafe, Ngozi Mere, Ben Obike and Magnus Duruigbo who won N25,000 each while Emmanuel Onalu, Agatha Izims and Charles Osita went home with cheques for N10,000 each.

In his remarks at the occasion, the Enugu state Commissioner for Poverty Reduction, Hon. Godwin Ogenyi said he attended the event in order to identify with Glo for all the good work it is doing. 'Glo is an indigenous company that is creating opportunities and making wealth for our people. Instead of creating capital flight, it is creating industry and enterprise and has put Nigeria on the global map', he said.

Speaking at the occasion, Globacom's Divisional Director (South East), Mike Ehumadu congratulated the winners for their luck and for being loyal Glo subscribers. He said that the prize presentation was a clear demonstration that Glo keeps its promises.

He further told the audience that winners have emerged from all walks of life in the promo with many going home with cheques ranging from N10,000 to N5 million at previous prize presentation events held in Lagos Abuja, Ibadan and Onitsha. 'Such winners include traders, artisans, students, civil servants, retirees, police officers and even a commercial tricycle rider', he said.

The Glo 'Recharge to Stardom' promo offers thousands of loyal subscribers on the Glo network the opportunity to win various prizes ranging from N10,000 up to the grand prize of N25 million. Prepaid and post-paid Glo subscribers who recharge with N200 and above during the promo period stand a chance of winning any of the prizes ranging from N10,000 to N1million while subscribers who recharge up to N5,000 during the promo period stand a chance of winning the grand prize of N25million which will be won by one lucky subscriber at the end of the promo.
