Adeyeye, who described the location of the Brigade Headquarters in Aaye-Ekiti as “very thoughtful and historical,” said; “siting the Army Brigade Headquarters in a landed property owned by the Nigerian Army since 1969 is a demonstration that the federal government is alive to its responsibilities and sensitive to the plight of Ekiti people.”

In a release issued today and signed by the Director General, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye Movement (PAAM), Hon. Bisi Kolawole, the governorship aspirant said the establishment of the Brigade Headquarters in Aaye-Ekiti will be of tremendous benefit to the people the community, towns and villages in its environs and Ekiti State in general.

The statement read; “It is on record that in 1969, the Federal Government established the National High School in Aaye-Ekiti, a secondary school for the children of military personnel, especially those whose parents lost their lives in the civil war.

“However, the secondary school, the only one of its kind then in Nigeria and forerunner to present-day Command Secondary Schools only operated for two years before it was closed down.

“We in Ekiti, especially those of us in the PDP therefore commend our President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Minister of State for Defence, Erelu Olusola Obada, Chief of Defense Staff, Vice Admiral Ola Sa'ad Ibrahim and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika for locating the Brigade Headquarters at Aaye-Ekiti.

“We also congratulate the Alaaye of Aaye-Ekiti, Oba T. A. Ogunbiyi, the people of Aaye-Ekiti and the entire people of Ido-Osi Local Government for this rare privilege.

“No doubt, when this Brigade Headquarters becomes fully operational, it will be of tremendous benefit to Ekiti State, especially in strengthening security in the State and we are very grateful to Mr. President.”
