Governor Chime donates vehicles to SSS
Governor Sullivan Chime yesterday handed over three brand new KIA Saloon cars and three Hilux patrol Vans to the State Command of the State Security Service (SSS), in line with the state government's policy of providing essential support to security agencies in Enugu.
At a brief ceremony held at the Government House, Enugu Governor Chime who was represented by his Special Adviser on Security, Mr Richard Chime said the vehicles were intended to assist the Command in its operations and help it enhance its operational efficiency.
He noted that security would be hard to obtain without effective intelligence gathering mechanism saying that he hoped the vehicles would support the efforts of the SSS in this regard.
Chime added that the Government would continue to pay premium attention to security matters to ensure that the state remains a safe and secure place for both social and business activities to thrive.
Receiving the vehicles the State Director of SSS Mr Victor Duru commended Governor Chime for his unwavering commitment to the entrenchment of security and peace in the state which according to him, had led to the being regarded as one of the safest states in the country.
He also praised what he described as the Governor's 'noiseless but relentless' efforts at bringing about a rapid and comprehensive development of the state saying that his achievements in this regard was also helping to enhance the security situation in the state.
Mr Duru who was accompanied by other senior officers of the command, promised to make effective use of the vehicles in its operations across the state.
