NSE Market Indices Dip By 0.42%

Weekly transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed on a negative note on Friday as some highly capitalised stocks recorded price losses.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the All-Share Index depreciated by 151.84 points or 0.42 per cent to close at 36,248.53.

This was against the 36,400.37 recorded on Thursday.

Similarly, the market capitalisation of all listed securities dropped by N48 billion to close at N11.496 trillion from the N11.544 trillion recorded on Thursday.

Unilever led the price losers by N4.30 to close at N57.70 per share.

UACN share price dipped by N3.15 to close at N55 per share, while Nigerian Breweries fell by N2.99 to close at N165 per share.

GlaxoSmithKline lost N1.50 to close at N58.50 per share, while Lafarge Wapco declined by N1.20 to close at N93 per share.

On the other hand, Presco topped the price  gainers’ chart by N2.28 to close at N37.39 per share.

FBN Holdings followed with a gain of 50k to close at N16 per share, while NAHCO grew by 30k to close at N6.50.

Livestock appreciated by 27k to close at N4.28, while Jos International Breweries rose by 26k to close at N2.93 per share.

In all, investors exchanged a total of 190.62 million shares worth N2.5 billion in 4,164 deals.

This was against the 599.81 million shares valued at N5.1 billion traded in 5,553 deals on Thursday. NAN
