The Governor of Sokoto State, Aliyu Wamakko was in the Presidential Villa to meet with President Goodluck Jonathan to discuss issues on how to move the country forward.

Wamakko who did not disclose what the meeting was about denied that it has anything to do with the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which comes up tomorrow.

Wamakko is among the governors in support of the Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State as Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF). Others are Governors Sule Lamido (Jigawa State), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Murtala Nyako (Adamawa) and Rabiu Kwankwaso (Kano), they have been accused of plotting to block President Goodluck Jonathan's re-election bid in 2015.

This will be Wamakko’s first visit to Jonathan since the crisis started.

On what the meeting was all about, the Sokoto Governor said, “Is just a routine visit to rob minds with the President of this great country”.

On if it has anything to do with the NEC meeting schedule for Thursday, he said, “It has nothing to do with tomorrow‘s NEC meeting is just a normal visit”.

On the level of consultation on the PDP crisis, the governor said it was still ongoing.
