The Yobe State Command of the Joint Task Force (JTF) said it would deploy more troops to more towns and villages in order to keep lives and properties safe.

This was disclosed by the JTF spokesman, Lazarus Eli, shortly after the attack in some villages in Borno, which left over 56 person dead last week-end.

He warned his men on duty never to allow hoodlums to launch any attack in Yobe state, stressing that any soldier that allows that would be sanctioned.

It was gathered that additional security men including soldiers were deployed to the state after the attack in Konduga town of Borno state that left over 56 dead.

The JTF also intensified efforts in patrolling major streets and towns within Damaturu, the state capital which resulted in mounting several check points in Damaturu and other roads.

A resident of Damaturu confirmed that more soldiers and mobile police men were deployed to Damaturu to stop and search vehicles before entering the town.
