Distribution Of Relief Materials In Borno State

The Presidential Committee on the distribution of Federal Government Relief Materials to the people of Borno State has distributed 18 trucks of assorted grains of 10, 800 bags to the 12 wards of Jere.

The exercise was successfully completed in the wards throgh the combined effort of the Militsry Joint Task Force ( JTF), The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), The Nigerian Red Cross Socirty and Youth volunteers.

According to Muhammad Zannah Barma, Secretsry of the Committee similar exercise have been carried out in Maiduguri and Bama while consignment for Biu and other areas of Southern Borno have arrived Biu awaiting the arrival of members of the Committee who will distribute to beneficiaries.

He said that each bag of grain was shared among four people in wards that are very populated while three or even two people shared a bag of grain in some wards.

The Committee Secretary further said that contrary to insinuations making the rounds that the grains are of poor wuality, he could attest to the fact that the quality of the grains is excellent.
